As soon as “Something To Stand Behind” starts, it’s like a bull in a china shop - high energy and aggressive. NOTHING LESS‘ vocalist Benjamin Green’s lyrics about self-destruction and his struggles with depression provide a dark background, which is complimented by his melodic voice. As the chorus comes in, Green turns up the amplification of his voice to reflect the heavier instrumentation of his band, but he still maintains control of his voice with poise. It reminds me a lot of STORY OF THE YEAR on their debut album Page Avenue, and I think it will be an instant fan favorite.
